The IATS Team has over 100 years experience in the industry.

Geoff Exner – Director of Training, Instructor and Course Developer.

Geoff has been involved in the aviation industry for over 39 years as an Air Traffic Controller, ATC Instructor, Training Manager and General Manager in Australia and the Middle East. As General Manager and Training Manager of the Oman Aircraft Control College for over 8 years, Geoff was responsible for managing over 40 civil and military staff and overseeing training delivery to over 100 students per year. Clients include: Oman Public Authority for Civil Aviation, Royal Air Force of Oman, Royal Oman Police, Royal Saudi Air Force, Royal Bahrain Air Force, Bahrain Civil Aviation Affairs and Gulf Aviation Academy, Bahrain.Geoff is currently engaged as Training Manager of civil ATC training in Bahrain. He holds a Diploma in Air Traffic Services.

Michel Boucher – ATC Supervisor and Training Specialist

Michel has been involved in ATC Operations and Training since 1970. He completed 32 years of active operational duties as supervisor, controller and OJT instructor in Airport, Approach and Area control, and 5 years as full time Training Specialist and Instructor with Transport Canada and NavCanada. During those years, Michel was also involved as Team Leader and Team Expert on a number of projects involving Design and Implementation of new operating procedures and training strategies. Since 2006, Michel has been providing consulting services as ATM Operation and Training expert and most recently was a key course developer in the project to supply ATC courseware in the Sultanate of Oman and The Kingdom of Bahrain.

Peter Sweeney - ATC Supervisor and Training Specialist

Peter has been involved in aviation for over 40 years, with extensive experience in Air Traffic Control operations. He has been an operational controller and manager in Area, Approach and Tower operations. He has had further experience in developing and implementing training for ab initio controllers and training controllers in airspace and procedure changes. Peter holds a Diploma of Aviation and a Diploma of Business. He has numerous commendations and awards from various agencies including NASA. Up until July 2018 Peter was the Tower manager at Avalon Airport intimately involved in planning, training and running the Australian International Airshow. Peter’s most recent achievement involves project management of the group’s contract to develop of a full suite of ATC courseware for use in Bahrain

Ian Francis- Head of Team Development, Leadership & Management Programmes .

Ian is a leading course designer and coach on Team Development, Leadership & Management. He has experience working with some of the largest brands in the world including; Dubai Airport, Cambridge University, Liverpool Football Club, Sky, Google, Dubai Metro, Channel Four, Arriva, Dept. for Work and Pensions, Taylor Wimpey Specsavers, The Central Bank of Bahrain and many more.

Denise Huneberg – Head of Aviation English, Instructor and Course Developer.

Denise is a highly motivated and dedicated instructor with 12 years of teaching experience Johannesburg, South Africa and in Lagos, Nigeria. These experiences have empowered Denise to operate across multiple cultures and age groups. Denise is passionate about enabling students to reach their full potential and to strive for success in Muscat, Oman. Denise developed and instructed Aviation English Language Courses at Oman Aircraft Control College for over 5 years and holds a University of Cambridge Celta Certificate in teaching English to speakers of other languages. With a background in staff training since 1988, Denise managed the day-to-day running of a small private fleet of aircraft.
